Congratulations to Domingo and Ruby Roldan as our Family of the Month !!!
Domingo and Ruby have now been honored two times in the past four years as Family of the Month. This family supports the knights and church consistently. Who wakes up at 4:00AM every Monday morning to prepare the barn for reycling? Who do you see laying bricks and cement to install the foundations and pedestals of the saints; St Michael, St Joseph, and St Theresa along the Path of Saints , and at present installing the St Jude icon by the chapel ? Who sanded the floor of the church plaza to remove the dirty chewing gum? Who installed the corrugated roofing of the patio of our Lady of the Pilar Room and so on and so forth taking care of maintenance and construction needs that needs to be done in Santiago church. He also installed the Stations of the Cross with fellow knight Danny Gaytan and with his hammer and nails assisted building the church sheds and did the interior painting of the parish hall. I also totally admire Ruby for supporting Domingo in his time at the church. What a pair! Together they sing praises to our Lord as they are both choir members on Sundays and holy days. Most of all Ruby made him join the knights. May God bless Ruby for this action of Charity.
Domingo is Filipino Hawaiian, born in beautiful Kauai. He attended Kapaa Elementary School as kindergarten and St Catherine Catholic School for his elementary grades. He completed high school in Mountain View High School in California. He joined the Army Reserve for 7 and a half years and went into business as an Acoustical Ceiling Subcontractor for 50 years. Ruby and Domingo have been married 24 years and have 2 stepdaughters, Michelle and Rona. and 3 stepchildren, Hannah, Daniel, and Crishelle. from Domingo’s first marriage to Cecelia, who died of cancer. They have 2 children, 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Guess how old Domingo is and how young he is, as he serves as our altar server many, many Masses each week. He also is a lector and hospitality Minister.
Domingo is a 4th degree knight. He likes what Knights of Columbus stands for and what it does for the needy. He totally enjoys volunteering with his brother knights.” They are all great people,” he said. “God bless them all.” Our congratulations and forever grateful for all you do at Santiago, Domingo and Ruby. No Job too small!!!
