FAMILY OF THE MONTH
THERESE & ROGER SONNENFELD

Our council officers have selected Roger and Therese Sonnenfeld as this month’s family of the month. They are very active in our parish and together they wrote the following:
Roger and Therese Sonnenfeld have been members of SDC since 1987. They have been married for 47 years and have three children, Nicole, Miles and Samantha, and one granddaughter Kenley. They raised their children in Lake Forest and all were active in the church and the knights during their younger years. Currently Samantha lives in Michigan and Nicole in Tennessee while their son, Miles, and wife and daughter are local here in Lake Forest.
For the last couple of years Roger and Therese have split their time between Lake Forest and Tennessee where they attend Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. They have a second home around the corner from their daughter Nicole and her fiancé Jason. It is in Tennessee where their love for music came to life as they were able to join an adult band and hone their music skills. Roger is a drummer and Therese plays keyboard.
Both have served in many ministries over the years with Roger becoming a Knight in 2000 and also serving two terms as Grand Knight. Both have served on Parish Council and been involved with the festival preparations. Most recently, they serve as Eucharistic Ministers to the Homebound at Freedom Village Health Center and Roger has served a number of years as a Liturgical Minister.
Being part of the Knights family is a huge part of their lives and they have made great friendships being part of this community.
Congratulations Brother Roger and Therese you are outstanding role models on how to live out our Catholic Faith.
